Brand New 90210

leave a comment »

Same zip code, new cast. Yep, it’s a new spin-off of super popular ’90s TV series Beverly Hills 90210. The new series centers on the Mills family who move to the posh neighborhood from the Midwest. In a nod to the ethnicity of approximately 40 percent of the real Beverly Hills High students, the new series cast a black and a mixed-race actors in the role. I’ve watched the introduce trailer and I’ve got to tell you that it’s gonna be better than the original one. Or at least as good as the original one. And the girls are looking sexier and cooler! The interesting part is that original cast member Jennie Garth, who will reprise her role as Kelly Taylor, now a guidance counselor at West Beverly Hills High. I’ve heard that Tori Spelling will also reprise her role as Donna Martin in it. She’ll play the owner of a chichi store in Beverly Hills, a hot shopping spot for local youths. And there will be Melrose Place alum Rob Estes in the series, he’ll play the father of the Mills family. Well, I guess we have to wait until the series reaches Indonesia, or at least until the dvds are available here. 🙂

Amare Re-Opening Party

leave a comment »

Last night I attended Amare Re-Opening Party. After few months closed for its renovation, Amare held the re-opening party on May 24th, 2008. The place a bit bigger than before due to no more outdoor balcony now, it become a part of the main hall. The outdoor lounge didn’t change, just as the same as before. They put mirror all over the ceiling that makes the place seems bigger, as they planned I guess. More or less, you still can feel the old Amare ambience, not as I expected of course. I thought it’s gonna be really different.

The crowd was fun! There were my friends and other familiar faces as I’ve guessed. And I’ve witnessed some of the guests not allowed to enter the venue by the Amare management because they didn’t dress up properly enough to be a part of the party. Poor them! Don’t ask me about the DJs’ music or performance, including DJ Alice Norin from Spinach Records who was the main DJ of the night. I was too drunk to care what they’re playing, HA! Anyway, when i was trying to find my friend at the backstage, I accidentally saw the sexy dancers changing their clothes! Though it was just a glimpse because my friend immediately pushed me away 😀 . The funny part is there was a guy (the bodyguard i guess) who was smiling while looking the girls changing their clothes, hahah, it just his luck! FYI, the girls without a doubt have sexy body but when talking about their face, not so really. I guess that’s why we called them sexy dancers instead of sexy and beautiful dancers, LOL.

Sorry, no picture uploaded here. I didn’t bring my digicam last night and my phone camera is so shitty in the indoors with bad lighting.

(Just Like We) Breakdown

leave a comment »

What I’m dealing with right now is like the time when you are really annoyed by something and you feel like wanna run and hide from fucked up reality shits. But guess what? you actually can never run and hide from them. They’ll always haunt you down until you solved them. You know that once I’ve got the idea how I’ll be so lucky to be kept in the dark from them, but once my consciousness emerge, hell I’d be really doomed/ vanished/ you name it!

No, I’m not talking about relationship issues, it’s so much bigger than that thing! And the truth is there’re so much more complicated and bigger issues than relationship issues. Unless if you’re married, then it makes relationship issues more complicated and bigger. Me thinks.

(Just Like We) Breakdown

by Hot Chip

Come around and around just like we breakdown
With a fist and a fall we meet with the floor
On the ropes in the oak of making once more
All in the name of what we’re not sure
x2

Lay down in our beds, it’s caught in our heads
There’s a room full of notes that build to a dread
Is there room to ignore what we are here for
Turn on the lights and open the door.

Ring on your finger, a block on your heart
Hold on my friend, the end is a start
x2

Come around and around just like we breakdown
With a fist and a fall we meet with the floor
On the ropes in the oak of making once more
All in the name of what we’re not sure

Ring on your finger, a block on your heart
Hold on my friend, the end is a start
x2

Thanks “Sob”!

with 2 comments

A stranger talked to me : “Hey sob, boleh pinjem lighter ga? Thanks sob!”

Sounds familiar? Yeah, I’m sure all of you ever heard of it and at least once you (men) have been called “Sob”, or even maybe you’re the one who use that word to call your friends (or strangers). I talked to some of my friends about how I feel ridiculous if people (especially strangers) calling me by the word “Sob”. I believe “Sob” means “Sobat” (best friend).  I never use it and I never will to a stranger. I might using it to my friends, but it’s most likely not gonna happen. Don’t get me wrong, I ain’t against you people who using that word. I just prefer other people –-outside my close friends circle— calling me by my real name. So, keep calling someone you don’t know by old school words like “Mas” or “Kang”, depends on where you situated and whom you talked to. I know it doesn’t sound “hip and young”, but it sounds right!

Well, just a thought….

Single and Happy, Indeed.

with 7 comments

The other night, I spent the night at my friend’s. The conversation ended up in bed size thing. Riiiight, what a topic! Hahah. We were making labels for those bed sizes in concern how many people could sleep on the bed, specifically for a single, here are the summary :

  1. Single and Lonely (Bed size : 100cms x 200cms)
  2. Single and Happy (Bed size : 120cms x 200cms)
  3. Single and Fabulous (Bed size : 160cms x 200cms)
  4. Greedy Bastard (Bed size : 180cms x 200cms and UP)

Me and my friend counted in Single and Happy. How about you? 😀

RUN FATBOY RUN

leave a comment »

I surely recommend you all to watch this movie. This underdog movie has nominated as Best Director (David Schwimmer) in British Independent Film Awards and as Best Comedy in Empire Awards, UK. The leading roles were played by Simon Pegg and Thandie Newton. They both have something in common, a previous role play in Mission : Impossible movie that is. Though they weren’t on the same movie ( Pegg’s on M:I3 and Newton’s on M:I2). If you still don’t know who Simon Pegg is, let me remind you, he’s the guy from Shaun of the Dead, a horror-comedy version of Dawn of the Dead. FYI, I liked it also.

Gordon: Go on then, run!
Dennis: Isn’t there some kind of like… special technique?
Gordon: Well… yeah… you put one leg in front of the other over and over again really really fast.

That is one of funny quotes from the movie. Anyway, you should notice that “Gordon” guy too, he’s so hilarious! It wouldn’t be as funny as it is if there’s no Gordon (played by Dylan Moran) on it! Shortly, I laughed, smiled, and moved by it. Must love British comedies!
